Excellent location in Vieux Montreal, short walking distance to all of the attractions and restaurants. Recently renovated modern and nicely decorated hotel. We had a very large room (501), possibly larger than most, it was across from the elevator, which was very convenient. Very comfortable US size king bed with 5 large comfortable pillows. Well-designed room features with reading lights and outlets on both sides of the bed. Large desk and sitting chair with ottoman. Large modern newly renovated bathroom with large walk-in shower. Absolutely the best shower ever with a multi-function shower head (body wash, hand-held and/or overhead rain shower with super water pressure and temperature control). Bathroom shelves to place your things on. Convenient valet parking, but pricey, 48 CAD plus 10 tip for one night. I'm not sure what other parking options there are close by; street parking in front of the hotel is by the hour. Easy designated drop off and loading zone in front of the hotel. Very nice restaurant attached to the hotel, we only had breakfast there, the food and service were very good and reasonably priced.

The hotel was excellent, great location within walking distance to all there is to see around Old Montreal plus the amazing restaurants close by. The Nespresso maker in the room was great for waking up. Loved the fireplace in our room as well. Room had a nice size shower and the corner jacuzzi tub was wonderful after long walks around the city. Bed was comfortable, plenty of hot water and room was quiet no noise even though there was a Christmas party held on Friday and one on Saturday. Arrival and check in was simple even though we arrived about 11pm. I chatted with the concierge Annie before we arrived to ask about restaurants and she was wonderful. I explained the trip was a surprise for my husband who had no clue where we were headed before we got to the airport and we arrived to find our room upgraded and a small bottle of champagne. Wonderful touches. This was our first visit to Montreal and it will not be our last we will be back in Summer and we will not stay anywhere else! Thank you for making this a wonderful Early Christmas getaway.

From the bottom of our hearts, we cannot say enough wonderful things about the Nelligan Hotel and its kindhearted staff who made our 5-night anniversary stay so special. Like being wrapped in a warm embrace, the elegant yet inviting lobby immediately made us feel at home with cozy couches and sincere smiles welcoming us like old friends. Our peaceful oasis of a suite overflowed with thoughtful touches like a congratulatory chocolate platter awaiting us, elevating our stay into something truly meaningful. Mornings brought not only delectable eggs benedict and potatoes but rich conversations with the dining room servers who genuinely cared about our plans. By stay’s end, saying goodbye to the staff who had spoiled us felt like a farewell family. More than the refined furnishings and ideal location, the Nelligan’s charm stems from employees who provide personalized service unmatched in warmth and care. We left with our hearts full and incredibly grateful for the Nelligan’s outstanding hospitality and compassion.

Everything and everyone at Hotel Nelligan was exceptional…from check in to check out. We were able to walk to so many excellent spots because of its awesome location in old Montreal…so charming! We enjoyed several delicious breakfasts in a cozy nook facing the street and enjoyed people-watching as much as the delicious food. Everyone at front desk and valet were friendly and courteous. The topper was that I learned that the hotel was named after one of Canada’s most loved poets, Emile Nelligan. Having taught English literature for 25 years, with a focus on poetry, it was serendipitous that we decided on this hotel honoring a poet. A’ la prochaine, Montreal.

We loved the size of the room, the quaintness of the room, brick walls. The coffee machine was one i was not familiar with and would have been nice to have the directions right with it. The hotel staff was above and beyond helpful. Everyone had a smile and was eager to help. The concierge made dinner reservations for us and im pretty sure helped with my request to have the room in the picture! I would highly recommend, its also on a darling street right in the center of where you want to be in old town.
